Baby gifts.

A close friend of mine is pregnant with her first baby, a much wanted little boy due at the beginning of August.

I am so thrilled for her and her husband, and know they are going to be fantastic parents!

What is also exciting (for me) is that this opens up a whole new chapter for my crafting - baby items! Now I did have a go at making some baby shorts late last year, but as this baby is due in winter summer shorts just wouldn't be appropriate.

So after spending some time searching the net, here are some of the best baby gift tutorials I found...

Bib Pattern by Chickpea Sewing Studio.

Fabric Mobile by Sew, Mama, Sew!

Burp Cloths by Chickpea Sewing Studio.

3D Pinwheel Baby Quit by Lucy Fazely.

Fabric Embroidery Hoops by Make Baby Stuff.

Wooden Puzzle by Make Baby Stuff.

Now I just have to choose one and get started!

  1. I'm getting to the friends with babies stage too! Really excited about crafting little things - have started on a simple quilt (gender neutral!) and also planning on knitting something super cute :)

  2. Miss J it is exciting isn't it? There are so many nice ideas for gender neutral items. While I know my friend is having a boy I am going to be careful not to go too over the top with blue :-)

  5. Shirley - Glad to bring back nice memories for you :-)

Cheryl - You're so right! I was thinking some other colours would be reds, yellows, greens, and browns. I guess it will also depend on what fabric is available out there ;-)
